David začal cvičit jógu ve velmi raném věku. Jeho starší bratr Doug byl jeho prvním učitelem. Cvičili Hatha jógu podle každé knihy, kterou se jim podařilo najít.

S Ashtanga jógou se David setkal v roce 1973, kdy potkal Davida Williamse a Nancy Gilgoff v Encinitas, v Kalifornii. V roce 1975 David Williams a Nancy přivezli Sri K. Pattabhi Joise do USA a tam měl David to štěstí poprvé se s ním setkat. Poté zahájil své studium přímo u něj. David Swenson je dnes uznáván jako jeden z předních světových odborníků a instruktorů Ashtanga jógy. Je to velká příležitost studovat přímo s ním. Připravte se, že se budete hodně smát!

Teacher Training / Yoga Immersion with David Swenson

This 40-hour course is designed as an intensive immersion into the teaching techniques of the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga.

This course will cover the teaching techniques of the Primary Series of Ashtanga Yoga. The participants will learn safe and effective hands-on adjustments through partner work for all of the asanas, practicalities of conducting a class and yoga theory. This is a deep immersion into the details underlying the practice and teaching of Ashtanga Yoga. During the course all participants will be engaged in teaching and adjusting each other. It is fun and energizing. There is a wealth of invaluable knowledge to be learned and tools for practice to be taken away from this immersion course.

Participants should have a consistent personal practice of Ashtanga Yoga and understand the flow and sequencing of the asanas. The course is not designed as an avenue to learn the sequence but rather to learn to teach Ashtanga Yoga or to deepen an existing practice.
